Challenges
  • The project involved the construction of 3,300 linear feet of new sanitary sewers, 9,500 feet of new storm drains, 6,800 linear feet of water main replacements, and 6,300 linear feet of cured-in-place sewer lining within 12 streets in the Franklin Avenue area of Hartford. It also involved the separation/connection of ~2,000 roof drains and the installation of ~50,000 linear feet of roof drainage discharge piping.
Solutions
  • Provided full time field inspection of daily construction operations, verifying that the contractor was completing work in accordance with MDC and OSHA requirements.
  • Completed daily reports utilizing MDC’s Construction Information Document System (CIDA), attended and documented construction meetings and prepared sketches of completed work.
